Facial authentication is an extremely convenient phone unlock system.You no longer have to insert the PIN or draw on the screen.However, it is not a safe system.
The facial authentication system was introduced by Samsung in 2016, then Apple came up with a similar but more complex system called the Face ID on the iPhone X. With that screen notch and dozens of phone producers brought authentication.facial on their phones.
Some producers sought to make this system as safe as possible, others have implemented it to be.That is why it should not surprise you when a research reveals that 40% of Android phones with such an unlock system are fooled by photos.
A non-profit organization in the Netherlands tested 110 smartphones with facial authentication systems and 42 of them could be unlocked with a simple photo that you would find on social networks.
What are the phones that did not fall prey to this fool?The middle and top Samsung phones launched in 2018, all OnePlus, Huawei Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro phones, the Motorola phones launched in 2018 and the ASUS, Honor, HTC and Oppo.Also, all iPhone passed the test.

The idea is that if you have a phone that can be unlocked with a better picture, stay in the authentication system through the fingerprint sensor is safer and almost as convenient to use as the facial authentication system.
