A new type of virus is spreading rapidly on WhatsApp and you need to be careful. A link claiming to change the original green color of the WhatsApp logo to pink is being shared on WhatsApp groups. Here's why you shouldn't click on it.

The widely circulated WhatsApp message, which comes with a link attached, claims that the app's color will change to pink by clicking on the link. This link is nothing but a virus.
It should also be noted that no link, app or setting can change the original logo or color of any app. If there is a logo change, there should be an official company announcement for it. Otherwise, it is a new way to trick users and steal their access to their accounts.
If you access the link, you may lose your WhatsApp account
According to cyber experts, they warn users of the social media app not to fall into the trap. The message circulating on the messaging platform also claims to bring some new features, which is not true.
Cybersecurity experts suggest that if you click on this link, hackers will hack your phone and give them access to your WhatsApp account. Also, if you access the WhatsApp Pink link, there is a high chance that you will lose your account access.
Cyber security expert Rajshekhar Rajaharia posted on social media platforms, “Beware of WhatsApp Pink! It's a virus that causes you to lose complete access to your account."
CEO of cyber intelligence firm Voyager Infosec, Jiten Jain, also suggested that users should only install apps available in the official Google or Apple app store.
Representatives of the Facebook-owned company also advise users to report these issues if they get something like this on their phone. Also, the contact sending you such a link should be blocked.
