OPPO continues to explore new mobile terminal formats and innovate, and this time we have discovered sketches and a patent for it, alluding to a removable secondary screen phone. This patent has been registered with WIPO and is discussed below.

The solution reminds why LG tried to do through that secondary screen attached to its flagships with the help of a special cover. What's different here is that the secondary, removable screen can function as a standalone phone once removed from the mechanism. The patent is not really new, it was registered in December 2019 and published only recently.

In the pictures we see a removable screen that can be connected to the main terminal using a kind of "skeleton", a base that could be a cover or a magnetically attachable hinge. The two units are divided into "Slave" and "Master". Master is the main phone, and Slave is the removable terminal. The two can communicate with each other via Bluetooth or other wireless connections, even when disconnected.

The patent states that the secondary screen will function like a traditional phone with a keyboard, screen and wireless connection, but without cameras. down. The Slave will also bring extra battery capacity and extra storage, not just an increased diagonal.

Several angles of inclination and use of this combo are shown. As usual, a patent is just a product imagined in OPPO labs, so we do not guarantee that it will exist. After all, LG was not very successful with its project.
