Digi Mobile. The telecommunications operator in Romania started a few months ago to notify its customers about a very important change it is making in the country, and it is very good to know about it, because you are directly affected. More precisely, Digi Mobil then started to tell the users of the Digi Wherever application that from August 30 the service offered by it will be deactivated, RCS & RDS recommending customers to activate their VoWiFi service instead.
Digi Mobile. The VoWiFi service allows Romanian customers to make phone calls via WiFi when the signal is weak, and of course the minutes will be consumed from the subscription they have. The Digi Anywhere application becomes practically useless for some Digi Mobil customers, so the operator stops offering the service, and all those interested in VoWiFi can do the free activation for phones that are compatible with it.

Digi Mobil. Unlike the Digi Anywhere application, VoWiFi is offered on a much more limited number of mobile phones, so some of the customers will be left without the possibility of making phone calls via the Internet. Despite this, Digi Mobil probably no longer finds reasons to allocate infrastructure to support the Digi Anywhere application, or it is possible that its level of use has dropped considerably, and it no longer makes sense to keep it active.
"In order to keep up with new technological developments and consumer preferences, we inform you that from August 30, 2019 we will give up this application and implicitly the account associated with the service we provide you will be deactivated. But the basic features available in this app will be taken to a higher level by the VoWifi service, which we encourage you to use with confidence."
Digi Mobile. The Digi Oriunde application has been available for years for customers in Romania, as a precursor to VoWiFi, but like any good thing, it had to end there, RCS & RDS having other priorities now. VoWiFi is as free as Digi Anywhere, the only problem being the limitation regarding compatible phones, but Digi Mobil has enough smartphones to be compatible with the service.
Digi Mobile. Having said that, you only have one month left to enjoy the Digi Anywhere application, after which you will be forced to give it up to use the existing services.
