Samsung unexpectedly announced today the launch of One Ui 4.0 beta, a release based on Android 12 and prepared for debut in the final version somewhere in the fall. The first phones to receive this update are those in the Galaxy S21 series, being the trio S21, S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra.

This announcement also involves the start of registrations for the beta test of One Ui 4.0, program that will start soon and which for the moment is only open to users in South Korea who hold an unlocked S21 purchased from operators. We have no details about the changes that this release brings, nor about the date on which it will debut in the final version, but looking at last year's situation we can get an idea.

Last year Samsung had started an Open Beta One Ui 3.0 at the end of October, and the stable version was distributed in the middle of December being based on Android 11.Now the Beta program for the new version is started earlier, which could mean that the stable build could come earlier, on the S21 series models.

We also remember the updated updates policy by Samsung, through which the phones and tablets mentioned here will benefit from 3 major Android updates and 4 years of security software updates. We expect that in the next period Samsung to expand the availability of the One Ui 4 test program.0 beta and let's see the first handson.
