After the numerous problems of late, Samsung is now involved in a new scandal, notes playtech.ro.

Things seem to be going from bad to worse for Samsung.

First there was the scandal with the Galaxy Note 7 phones, then there was the scandal with the washing machines, which led to the factory recall of no less than 2.7 million models, and now the company is also involved in a political scandal in one's own country.

This is an extremely important one, given the fact that it targets the very president of South Korea.

Apparently, prosecutors in the Asian country have issued a warrant in the name of President Park Geun-hye, who is accused of abuse of office, but also of attempted fraud.

The leader allegedly allowed a close associate, named Choi Soon-sil, to view confidential documents and presidential speeches.

South Korean media subsequently accused Choi of using her close relationship with the president to secure millions of dollars in funding for her foundations.

And one of the companies that would have had the most important contributions would have been Samsung itself.

According to CNN, it would have delivered around three million dollars to the account of a company owned by Choi, to finance the activities carried out by her daughter at a riding school in Germany.

This scandal led tens of thousands of Korean citizens to take to the streets and demand the president's resignation. And for Samsung, involvement in such a scandal, when Note 7 would have already caused losses of approximately five billion dollars, is not beneficial.

Recently, the company published an open letter of apology in several newspapers in the United States. The list of publications includes The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and The Washington Post, among others.
