Yesterday's Google brand event brought us a lot of hardware launches, including Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL phones, Home Hub smart speaker, Pixel Slate tablet, but also Pixel USB-C Earbuds. Chromecast 3 also debuted on the spot, the small dongle that is a minor upgrade for the previous generation, a kind of facelift if you will.

Learn that this device is now adopting an updated design, opting to replace the Chromecast logo with a "G" symbol and a matte texture this time around. The shape of the puck remains unchanged and so does the flexible HDMI cable that will connect to the TV quickly and easily.

According to Google, the new Chromecast is now 15% faster than the previous generation and we are informed that it supports Full HD video streaming at 60 frames per second. The device is capable of playing music on other speakers connected to Google smart gadgets, a feature that will be available later after debut.

Chromecast 3 sells for $ 35!
